FAMOUS TRUCK CONVERTED TO FLOAT CUBANS TO USA
This 1951 Ford F-5 is fashioned as a replica in honor of the Cubans who outfitted their own Ford F-5 and would've made it to the U.S. were it not for the coast card. On July 16th, 2003, this boat was spotted by a plane and stopped by the US carrying 12 passengers who had been on the craft for over 31 hours. Over halfway to the US, only 40 miles away, the truck was modified with a propellor attached to the driveshaft which pushed the vehicle along at about 8 mph. After seizure by the Coast Guard, the original was sank. Six hours of building was all it took to build the original, and in honor of the Cubans who went to great lengths to make the voyage to America, this replica is dedicated.
