Description
The Desoto Custom was manufactured 1939 to 1952. Powered by Chrysler's L-head 3.9L 236.7 cu in. 6 cylinder, it delivered 109 bhp it was DeSoto's top-trim level vehicle. Available in multiple body configurations; such as the 2 door couple, 4 door sedan and station wagon, and even an extended wheelbase suburban sedan. After 1949 they released the fully redesigned "Custom" changing from the "pre-war" chassis to what was referred to as the "second series" models as featured here. Two speed electric windshield wipers, trunk lighting, and full carpeting was standard equipment on the DeSoto. Production ended in 1952 as it was replaced by the V8 powered Firedome model line.
