Dukes of Hazzard Matador
The 1975 Amc Matador was one of the many different vehicles that Hazzard County Police used during the filming of the show. The AMC Matador was manufactured by American Motors Corporation from 1971 to 1978. Featured here is a second generation 1974 Matador. For 1974 major design changes were incorporated for both the sedan and the station wagon. The Matadors met new highway and transportation standards by fitting these vehicles with massive bumpers. The 4 door vehicles like the one you see here received a new front fascia and a new hod and grille to follow the bumper styling. Offering 5 engine options in the United States and manual or automatic transmission configurations it was labeled as a "good buy" in its time. This vehicle was used in the show as a police interceptor and the working light bar and sirens just add to the appeal of this iconic movie car. Used by Hazzard County in numerous chases in pursuit of the Duke brothers its a very recognizable vehicle.
