1 OF 4 MODEL X's KNOWN TO EXISIT
This is a very rare, 1 of only 4 known to exist, Model X Duesenberg. The last of the real Duesenburgs. In 1920, Fred & August Duesenberg began designing their first passenger vehicle, the model A which made its debut in 1921. It was considered the worlds finest car, light weight and powerful. Because of their high prices only 650 were built and sold between 1921 - 1927. During 1926 the brothers were developing their second design, the Model X, which was an improved version of the model A, it featured better suspension and a more powerful motor. However, the newly evolved X Model was wiped from production when the Duesenberg brothers sold the company to E.L. Cord in fall of 1926. E.L. Cord had a different vision and put the companies efforts into developing what became known as the Model J. Before the production was halted, there were enough parts made to build 13 models, of the 13 built only 4 are known to exist. Of the 4 that exisit, this is the only Pheaton. Jay Leno has a green sedan in his collection and the other 2 are roadsters. This gem was aquired for the Dezer collection in the early 1980s.
